Business is in His Blood
Over fifty years ago, Riad’s father, Ike Nizam, founded Master Electronics in a small apartment in Santa Monica, California. As a Syrian immigrant, Ike instilled in his six children the value of hard work and perseverance.
Riad did not always want to be in the family business. Having gone to work with his father since he was five years old, he craved independence and initially pursued a career in finance. However, he eventually joined the company after realizing that building something meaningful with the people he loved the most was the best thing he could be doing with his career.
Having worked in virtually every position within the company, Riad rose from a warehouse employee to customer service rep, and then from sales person to general manager, all the way to Vice President of Sales, eventually becoming the 3rd President of Master Electronics in 2017. Today, Riad has helped to grow the company to 15 locations with over 650 team members, and revenue of $630M and growing.
His Life’s Purpose
Riad’s life purpose is to bring positive energy to each and every day. Inspired by his family, Riad strives to make those around him happier, create connections, and motivate others to lead their best lives.
Riad has attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and Harvard Business School, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization. It’s the lifelong journey of learning that keeps him motivated and drives him to think big. He believes curiosity, empathy, and humility are the keys to living a successful life and making a positive impact on those around him.
As a family man, Riad makes time to connect with his siblings, both inside and outside of the business, and enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and experiencing all that the world has to offer together.
